SEAFDEC/AQD Chief Dr. Felix Ayson and more than 20 senior and junior SEAFDEC/AQD staff participated in the 10th National Shrimp Congress, with the theme “Maximizing the Benefits of Shrimp Culture for a Modern Globally Competitive Industry.” The event was held from 11 to 13 November 2015 which took place for the first time in General Santos City, the shrimp production hub in Mindanao.

The event also had an exhibit where SEAFDEC/AQD was able to showcase its aquaculture technologies and reach more aquaculture stakeholders in the Mindanao area. About 100 participants and guests visited SEAFDEC/AQD’s booth.

The 10th National Shrimp Congress was organized by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Philippine Shrimp Industry Inc., and SARGEN Stakeholders’ Association.
