AQD welcomes learners from Kiribati

In the past ten years, SEAFDEC/AQD has trained over 2,700 extensionists, entrepreneurs and other aquaculture industry stakeholders in 66 types of short-term training courses conducted in 191 sessions. [FRONTPAGE MAP BY RT BAUTISTA]

The latest to train are two government officers from the Republic of Kiribati and one Filipino overseas contract
worker / entrepreneur based in Hong Kong. Ms. Teaeki Luta, Mr. Tim Natua and Ms. Glony Realgo are at AQD’s Iloilo station in the Philippines to learn about milkfish farming, and their training started on 26 September and will end on 10 October 2011.

In related development, a southern Philippine entrepreneur, Mr. Henry Bernales, is undergoing a two-week training on the hatchery of marine fishes from 14 to 30 September, also at AQD’s Iloilo station.
