AQD is in need of technical assistant for its socioeconomics section in Tigbauan, Iloilo.

SEAFDEC/AQD raises funds for its community partners from Barangays Codingle and Tamulalod in Dumarao, Capiz through an online benefit auction that will run from 15 December 2011 until 15 January 2012. The auction activity aims to help the community on their livelihood projects.

Approximately 450 kg of siganid will be harvested from SEAFDEC/AQD’s Dumangas Brackishwater Station on 15 December. You can buy the siganid with sizes 200-350 g ranging from Php 120 to Php 170 per kg. Fresh milkfish from SEAFDEC/AQD’s Milkfish cage culture project with Petron in Guimaras will be harvested on 7 or 8 December. The retail price of sizes 350 g and below is Php 95 per kg while sizes 400 g and above are priced at Php 110 per kg. On 1 December 2001, SEAFDEC/AQD and the Government of Japan Trust Fund (GOJ-TF) hosted the International seminar on environment-friendly aquaculture & stock enhancement in Southeast Asia and concluded the International training course on community-based freshwater aquaculture for remote rural areas of Southeast Asia.
