Vacancy: Laboratory Manager


Assignment: Laboratory Facilities for Advanced Aquaculture Technologies (LFAAT), Research Division (RD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo

Qualifications: Licensed and with Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related courses

                         With relevant managerial experience in laboratory operation and analytical works                                         including biotechnology application and techniques


  • With good scholastic records
  • Knowledgeable in basic QA/QC in laboratory and with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is an advantage
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software and other computer-related applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • With a strong sense of initiative and analytical problem-solving ability
  • With good interpersonal relationship skills and work ethics

Summary of duties to be performed:

The position is responsible for efficient operation of the LFAAT including implementation of services, maintenance of equipment, and supervision of personnel in order to support on-going research studies and services to third parties.

  • Implements policies and procedures following the laboratory’s Quality Management System;
  • Conducts research studies either as study leader or as co-proponent;
  • Plans and directs laboratory activities and personnel following experimental protocol relating to various biotechnological research studies;
  • Operates, maintains, and coordinates servicing of laboratory equipment;
  • Perform activities in maintaining the PAB Accreditation of the laboratory to ISO/IEC;
  • Conduct laboratory analysis-related tasks if needed; and
  • Perform tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
