SEAFDEC/AQD’s Baliao gets fourth term as department chief

Dan Baliao’s term as SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department (AQD) chief has been extended for another two years following his reappointment by SEAFDEC Secretary-General Ms. Malinee Smithrithee.

Mr. Baliao has been serving as Chief of AQD since 7 September 2017 and is now expected to continue fulfilling his duties until 6 September 2025.

Prior to this, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. nominated Mr. Baliao’s reappointment to the SEAFDEC Council. The council’s directors, consisting of member country representatives, then gave their unanimous approval.
