The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center/Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo, an international research institution, is in urgent need of a TECHNICAL ASSISTANT to be assigned at its Binangonan Freshwater Station, Research Division.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Biology, or related courses
- With good scholastic records
- With at least two (2) years of related work experience in aquaculture or biological research
- Licensed Fisheries Technologist (if Fisheries or Aquaculture graduate) is an advantage
- Knowledgeable in primary computer applications
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be trustworthy, reliable, honest, and dependable and possess good work ethics
Summary of duties to be performed:
This position is tasked to assist in the conduct of eel nursery rearing experiments (e.g. processing of feed ingredients, feed preparation, feeding, monitoring and maintenance of experimental set-up, and sampling); prepare study-related documents; assist in the procurement of supplies and materials needed in the experiment; collect, interpret, summarize data collected and assist in statistical data analysis; help search for literatures or published scientific information needed in manuscript preparation; and perform other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor or higher authority from time to time.
