Dan D. Baliao has been appointed to head the Aquaculture Department (AQD) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) effective 7 September 2017.

Philippine Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol expressed support to SEAFDEC/AQD and advised officials of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to more closely coordinate with its experts.

Seven participants completed the 37-day training on marine fish hatchery from 20 June to 26 July 2017 at SEAFDEC/AQD’s Tigbauan Main Station
