BFAR personnel train on oyster production at SEAFDEC/AQD

To empower extension workers and promote the expansion of the oyster aquaculture industry, SEAFDEC/AQD conducted a four-day training course on Oyster Seed Production, Nursery and Grow-out held 3-6 October 2016 at SEAFDEC/AQD’s Tigbauan Main Station.

The training was attended by 25 personnel of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to enhance their capability for the effective implementation of activities and programs on oyster production.

SEAFDEC/AQD’s scientists lectured on the recent developments in oyster seed hatchery production and innovative techniques for nursery and grow-out. The participants learned the basic principles and practices for the different stages of the production cycle. The training also included a demonstration of important hatchery, nursery and grow-out culture activities and an on-site visit to culture sites in Pan-ay, Capiz.

At the end of the course, the trainees expressed their gratitude and praises to AQD for the successful training.
