AQD and DENR-PENRO Guimaras partner in protecting marine turtles

The Philippines’ Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-PENRO) Guimaras and AQD signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the protection and conservation of sea turtles in Guimaras, Philippines last 23 September 2016 at AQD’s Igang Marine Station in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

During the MOA signing, Mr. Vicente Sardina, OIC of DENR-PENRO Guimaras, mentioned that marine turtles are tourist attractions in Guimaras. Mandated to protect marine turtles in Guimaras, the organization teamed up with AQD for technical assistance in taking care of injured marine turtles.
