AQD scientist emerita bags awards

Kudos to AQD scientist emerita Dr. Jurgenne Primavera and UP Visayas professor Dr. Resurreccion Sadaba for bagging the Outstanding Book Award given by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) for their bookBeach forests and mangrove associates in the Philippines.” The authors received their award on 11 July 2013 at the Manila Hotel, Philippines. This book was published by AQD in 2012 with funding from UNESCO Jakarta through its Man and the Biosphere Programme and Japanese Fund-in-Trust.

Dr. Primavera and Dr. Sadaba were also recognized for their environment-related contributions. They were among the five recipients of the 2013 Green Guardians given by The Daily Guardian (a local daily in Iloilo) in partnership with Megaworld Corporation. The awarding ceremony was held on 24 July 2013 at Hotel del Rio in Iloilo.
