Except for the Binangonan Freshwater Station (BFS) in Rizal, study tours to AQD substations are coordinated from the Tigbauan Main Station.

The Igang Marine Substation in Guimaras Island, which is about an hour-and a half by boat from Iloilo City, is a natural shelter for milkfish, seabass and grouper broodstock. It is the site where AQD researchers completed the cycle of tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon and milkfish Chanos chanos in 1975 and 1983, respectively.

You can see our demonstration brackishwater ponds in Dumangas, located 40 km east of Iloilo City. The Dumangas Brackishwater Station is a 16-ha pond area for research and technology verification.

For BFS tours, contact: mcaralar@seafdec.org.ph
