Mangrove Greenbelt Project Launching

On 2 March 2006, a Mangrove Greenbelt Project was jointly launched by the Capiz State University and the Roxas City Government with a Mangrove Situationer from Pew Fellow and SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department Senior Scientist Dr. J.H. Primavera. Following this initiative was the Mangrove Rehabilitation and Management Program of fisherfolk groups from different coastal villages of Roxas City, also sponsored by the Office of the Mayor of Roxas City last 15-16 June 2006, The program aims to rehabilitate mangrove areas in designated protected areas. Photos show students and fisherfolk in various mangrove activities.
