Pilot Testing of Teachers' Manuals for Mangrove
Villa Terraza, Ajuy
Iloilo, Philippines
15-18 May 2008

 [Background][Participants][Elementary Activities][High School Activities]

BACKGROUND

West Visayas State University teachers-educators prepared Teachers Manuals for the instructional modules on mangroves and other marine habitats) for primary and secondary levels that they had written and successfully pilot-tested last year. The manuals are intended to guide the teachers who will use the modules.

The Teachers Manuals and their corresponding modules were tested by 8 elementary and 7 high school teachers from Panay last 15-18 May 2008 in Ajuy, Iloilo. The activity started with an orientation and preliminary lecture on the modules. Field practicals (beach, mangrove, etc.) were conducted in Pedada Bay and Barrido, Ajuy. Lectures and film showing (Sinaya’s World and Muro-Ami) were given at night.
