The Pew fellowship of Dr. Primavera aims to conserve Philippine mangroves by increasing mangrove awareness and disseminating information through formal education. A major activity is the collaboration with the West Visayas State University (WVSU) in the preparation of mangrove instructional materials for primary and secondary school levels. A 3-day workshop in early April 2006 provided subject matter immersion for the WVSU teachers-writers through field trips to mangrove sites in Tangalan, Akian (see photos).
