SEAFDEC/AQD has the technology to grow the tropical abalone (Haliotis asinina) to cocktail size in a much shorter period (from the usual ten to the present six months) by using especially-designed prefabricated plastic trays stocked with 50 pieces abalone per m².

Fishfarmers can protect their stocks from disease outbreaks by practicing good aquaculture management. This was the message of the International workshop on fish health management held 1-2 March 2012 in Iloilo City, Philippines.

AQD expects to increase its milkfish hatchery production in 2-3 years with the acquisition and transport of more than 100 milkfish broodstock on 2 April 2012.
