Planting is fun!

By Development Communication Section

AQD’s 41st anniversary celebration kicked off with a tree planting activity on 1 July 2014. AQD employees led by AQD Chief Dr. Felix Ayson planted 250 jackfruit seedlings at the vacant lot on the west portion of the Tigbauan Main Station complex.

It has been AQD’s tradition to include this activity in celebrating its anniversary. Last year, a total of 74 trees (calamansi, jackfruit, pomelo, talisay, bulobitoon) were planted in six areas within AQD’s Tigbauan Main Station. In 2012, AQD planted 60 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees such as calamansi, atis, chico, and jackfruit near the Nanga pump house and ten saplings of native trees behind the apartment building. Whereas, about 480 seedlings of hardwood and fruit-bearing trees were planted at AQD’s perimeter fence fronting the national road, at the back of TID building and at the Nanga pump house in 2011.
